VALDOSTA STATE MAGAZINE 57 A few years ago, the City of Warner Robins had a problem. City leaders realized the rate of pay for city employees was not keeping pace with the Middle Georgia area’s increasing cost of living. Staff members were feeling the pinch, and certain departments faced the risk of losing experienced employees to higher-paying organizations. The situation led to a push for increased compensation. Searching for a practical and cost-effective solution, the City of Warner Robins partnered with Â鶹Éç State University’s Azalea Consulting Services, a collective of Department of Psychology, Counseling, and Family Therapy students on a mission to solve critical problems facing companies, governments, and organizations both locally and abroad. The Azalea Consulting Services team is comprised of students pursuing careers in industrial/ organizational psychology, a field that takes a scientific approach to workplace matters in an effort to increase productivity and the wellbeing of employees.
