Mission Statement

The Adult and Military Programs (AMP) Office at VSU provides support and services to students who are adult learners, active military, transfer students, veterans, or military affiliated. Our department was created to assist adult and military learners with earning college degrees and the formation of AMP is evidence of VSU’s commitment to improving the success of adult learners. Here at VSU, we value your life experiences and recognize that balancing home, business, and family obligations is no easy task.

If you are an independent adult, transfer student, member of the military, or a military veteran or professional who wants to earn a college degree, use our resources to help make the most of your VSU experience. Whether you are beginning a college career or returning after several years, it is our mission to help assure your academic success. We are committed to offering you our best in academic advising, transitional guidance, and military/veteran student connection opportunities.

Student Resources

VSU is designated an Adult Learning Focused Institution (ALFI), one among a coalition of colleges and universities striving to remove barriers to degree completion for adult learners. More information about the ALFI program can be found on the Council of Adult and Experiential Learning () website.
