The Multicultural Hub is a new inviting, inclusive, and welcoming space for COEHS students, staff, and faculty to reserve for events and meetings and connect and engage as a culturally diverse community.

Faculty Peer Connect

COEHS faculty are invited to get together each semester with the mission of supporting social and professional connections among faculty. Our hope is to foster a sense of community and nurture informal peer mentorship relationships across culturally diverse faculty.

To assemble a Diversity and Inclusion Comprehensive Planning Task Force focused on a university planning effort aimed at real, tangible, and lasting change that promotes inclusion and social justice. This group of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members is committed to ensuring the 麻豆社 State University campus is a welcoming environment for everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or identity, age, education, or disability. This group will closely examine what additions, improvements, or changes may be needed to accomplish this goal. Input from the campus community is critical to ensuring that real and lasting change is enacted.

College Assistance Migrant Program

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) at 麻豆社 State University is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Migrant Education for a 5-year grant period. The CAMP Program was established to assist migrant and seasonal farm workers, or their dependents, through their first year of college.

  • Preparation for the GACE through tutoring, pretesting, and peer mentoring practices. 
  • Access to guided lesson plan workshops and speaker events. 
  • Mentorship and tutoring opportunities for local high school and middle school students. 
  • Connections with students of color that share similar interests, dreams, and experiences.

Mission statement

ASL Club

The ASL Club at 麻豆社 State University promotes awareness of American Sign Language and Deaf culture within the VSU and greater 麻豆社 community. Membership is open to any enrolled student with an interest in sign language. The ASL Club at VSU partners with the South Georgia Deaf Community on a variety of service and social activities throughout the academic year. 

Genders and Sexualities Alliance 

 

GSA is a safe-space where members can speak about LGBT+ issues, events, and current topics, as well as bond among peers through movies, icebreakers and fun activities. Open to anyone interested in attending (including alumnae).
