VSU's Master of Education in Adult and Career Education program is a fully-online degree program that is designed for professionals seeking relevant and practical knowledge and skills that encourages life-long learning and the utilization of technology. 

We offer students the chance to obtain Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (MOS), which increases an individual’s employability, highest potential pay, and confidence in their computer skills. The program provides an advanced knowledge base for continuing your studies at the doctoral level that can lead to higher education, consulting, and leadership careers. 

A capstone experience is required to complete the degree.

This concentration is intended for for post-secondary educators, private sector workforce educators and trainers, and community adult educators to learn advanced instructional and course design knowledge and techniques, skills and dispositions to effectively facilitate adult learning, and the proper conduct and interpretation of research related to the field.

This concentration is intended for professionals who are interested in advancing their knowledge, skills and dispositions for all middle grades and secondary Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) areas leading to an Advanced Teacher Certificate and upgrade as approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. 

The 36 credit-hour program includes 5 core courses, 6 concentration specific courses, and 1 guided electives.

This program does not satisfy requirements for initial teacher certification, but may satisfy the requirements for advanced teacher certification in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education fields. How to Apply?

Applications are accepted on a continual basis (Apply for available semesters NOW!). In general, you need (a) Online Application and Fee, (b) Official Transcript(s), (c) GRE/MAT scores, (d) Immunization Exemption Form for distance students.

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in education, uman resources, or related field (GPA 2.5 or above)
  • GRE/MAT scores are waived for applicants with undergraduate GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • GRE: Quantitative 144 or above + Verbal 147 or above + Analytic Writing 4.0 or above; MAT 375 or above.
